İzmir Köfte (İzmir Meatball with potato
wedges and peppers)

Ingredients:
- 750 gr. ground beef
- 2 medium onions
- 2 slice old bread
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 1/2 bunch fresh parsley
- salt and ground black pepper
- 5-6 medium potatoes
- 8-10 green peppers
- about 1+1/2 cups sunflower oil to fry
- 2 big tomatoes sliced
- 3 tbsp tomato paste
- about 3/4 cup water
Directions:
- Sprinkle bread slices with water and squize the water to
make it soft.
- Put onions, breads and parsley in a food processor and
process them in small pieces.
- Add olive oil, tomato paste, ground beef, salt and pepper
and process 3-4 second at a time until it becomes a dough.*
- Make a long, oval meatballs from the dough.
- Peel potatos and slice them in long wedges.
- Fry potatos first in half donneness and then meatballs.
- Last fry pepper until they soft.
- Arrange vegetables and meatball in a oven tray.
- Put slices tomatoes to the top. Mix tomato paste and water
with a little salt. Pour over the dish.
- Bake in preheated 200C (400F) oven until everything cooked
well about 20-30 minutes.
* If you don't have a food processor you can finely chop
onions and parsley. Put all the ingredients to a big bowl and knead them until
it becomes dough like.
